A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER

I am incredibly excited to bring The Peacock Foundation to the community. After serving my country for twenty years as a soldier in the United States Army, I feel that this is a continuation of my path of serving.

Growing up in the great city of Chicago, I witnessed how a lack of resources can hinder a community to thrive and flourish. This awareness continued during my tenure as an alderman for the City of Davenport. Lack of resources can cause members of disenfranchised communities to be exposed to higher levels of violence and trauma.

During my years of service, I learned firsthand how important it is to address the needs of all members within a community. It is with this in mind, that I launched The Peacock Foundation. When we “Uplift and Empower Communities” as a whole; we then can label our community a success.

The Peacock Foundation’s goals are to address the stigma associated with mental health through active and intentional programming and connection to competent services, build partnerships with community organizations and businesses to increase resource availability, and provide opportunities to children to not only identify, but achieve the goals they have.

The Rising Star program will empower children to know their worth, educate them about opportunities, and inspire them to in turn serve their community. I believe the next Reginald Lewis, Maya Angelou, and Barbara Jordan is within reach. You just must let children know that they can reach the stars.

Uplifting and empowering communities are all our responsibilities. I encourage you to assist us with this task by volunteering for events, participate in the mentor program, or showing your support through donations.
